I am including two warmups here for you to use in your practice sessions. These are play along tracks. The first is a C scale. The second are lip slurs, which we will discuss more in the next lesson.

Here is the five note warmup. It is pretty much #1-3 in the back of the book. With this version you can play along.

This is a great way to get ready for your lesson or to start a practice session.

We should keep practicing our buzzing with just the mouthpiece. Try to get a few different sounds. Then try the siren (up and down in one breath).

We played #32 (our warmup scale) and #34 (Natalie’s Nose) before working on #54-60. My biggest goal with 54-60 is being able to read the notes without having the letters there. We practiced our C, F, and G7 chords and played three songs. Twinkle Twinkle, Old MacDonald, and The Itsy Bitsy Spider were all good. The Itsy Bitsy Spider, with the Hawaiian shuffle (down up down up) needs the most work. We will continue with that before going on.

We worked on #10-14 in the book. Please practice those, with or without the bow. The goal is to be using the bow, but if it is more comfortable for now to not use it all the time, feel free to pluck the exercise first and then add the bow later.
