2. Play Mary Had a Little Lamb (Lesson 4) and Ode to Beethoven (Lesson 5) slowly at first, but then repeat 4 more times getting faster each time. Remember to start each note with a “too”.

Nice work on Ode to Joy and Happy Birthday this week! Keep practicing these. Pluck first and then bow. Always warmup with just bowing on the D and the A strings several times using as much bow as possible.

Remember the new note, Low 2 (the C# second finger is moved closer to the first finger on the A string).

Have fun!

Keep working on bowing! Warmup with the D string. Move the bow very slowly between the bridge and fingerboard and try to keep it straight. Use as much bow as possible. When finished, do the same on the A string.

Nice work today learning the “bounce” stroke.

Practice Lesson D1 in your book. Try to keep the rhythm even when you are doing the bounce strokes versus the normal taps. Make sure the palms of your hands are always facing down toward the floor.

Keep practicing high notes. Remember to add your thumb to the register key. E is C+2. D is C+3 and C is C+3 and pinky.
