Way to play the Minuet – Keep at it – you’re getting stronger and stronger with those high notes!
We did the C scale at 60 beats per minute today with 8th notes – we’ll try 70 next time.

This was another Clarinet only lesson… but we worked really hard on playing the song sugar along with the recording. Kristin – you’ll notice I posted a lower version of it in the Sugar post.
I also talked about the Pentatonic scale – visit that post to learn more!

The Pentatonic Scale is a five note scale that is used a lot in modern music like Jazz, Blues, Rock and R&B, Hip-Hop, basically everything.

Nice work today. I reposted the Sugar, you’ll see that it now has easier to read lower notes. And also, we worked on the Meadowbrook Song to practice some tonguing.

Great playing as usual. We did the C scale from memory – Very cool, and also got all the way through Minuet. We’ll work on it one more time next lesson. Keep tonguing those high notes to help get that nice clear ‘pop’.
